Sephiria builds are not locked jobs — they are a weapon spine plus Strategic Inventory (Artifacts + Tablets) plus Anvil history. TEAM HORAY designed the USP around placement, not a talent tree class. This page turns tier list bands into runnable templates for Steam clears. Verified August 16, 2026 · Steam.

Build your Sephiria loadout

Combine costume, weapon spine, Miracle, and Artifact tags. The right panel updates starter stats — use it as a run checklist, not a full Anvil damage calculator. Same tool also lives under Build planner.

Interactive loadout — costume, weapon spine, Miracle, and up to three Artifact tags. Panel numbers come from costume / Miracle deltas on the Bunnyville baseline (not Anvil DPS). Weapon + Artifact mainly update Board tags. Inspired by sephiria.wiki/simulator.

How do I start a Sephiria build?

Every strong Sephiria build begins with one spine you will actually upgrade for the rest of the run. Pick from how you die, then refuse Anvil offers for weapons you are not holding.

Costume is a spice rack, not the meal

Costumes tweak HP, evasion, or elemental leans. They do not replace the weapon spine. Armored / sustain costumes help early; specialized costumes wait until you understand the downside.

Co-op role split

One player on Crossbow / Staff for safe damage, another on Greatsword for clears, works well — trade Anvil priority so two players do not starve the same upgrade pool. See co-op guide.

With the spine locked, grab a named template instead of inventing from scratch.

What are the core build templates?

Three templates cover most 1.0 clears. Copy the intent (spine + Anvil focus + inventory job), not a rigid Artifact shopping list — drops are run-dependent.

TemplateSpineAnvil focusInventory job
Shield sustainSword & ShieldShield bash / cover / MP-on-block linesDefense / thorns / sustain Artifacts touched by Tablets
Whirlwind clearerSteel GreatswordSpecial damage · charge speed · whirlwind rangeDamage Artifact center; Tablets on all open sides
Kite controllerCrossbow (or Staff)Reload / ammo / elemental pokeRange / haste / elemental tags; keep potions funded

Shield sustain (beginner default)

Community pure-shield runs stack shield bash evolutions (stone-sword style specials, Aegis-like on-hit defense toys) and keep Tablets glued to whatever Artifact is carrying the shield fantasy. Buy a potion early. This is the template that forgives Chapter 1 greed.

Whirlwind clearer (damage default)

Hard Mode showcases often push Greatsword special-charge whirlwind: Anvil lines that boost special damage, charge speed, and swing range. Inventory stays short and mean — one big damage Artifact, heavy Tablets, fewer novelty companions until the special already deletes packs.

Kite controller (safety default)

Crossbow keeps you off blue hyper-armor telegraphs; Staff does the same with elemental zones once unlocked. Both fail when you starve reload / MP upgrades. Fund Leaves for potions and skip Arena until the board has adjacency.

Templates only work if the grid geometry is correct — that is the next section.

How should Artifacts and Tablets sit on the grid?

Strategic Inventory is the build. Place the piece you care about first, then seat Tablets so every boost touches a live neighbor.

  • Do01Open inventory after every Artifact or Tablet pickup
  • Do02Preview level changes before locking a placement
  • Do03Match combo tags only when you already own two pieces that share a theme
  • Do04Expand inventory slots when the board is cramped — not before you have a primary
  • Do05Draft layouts on the inventory planner if you want a sandbox

Adjacency beats rarity

A high-rarity drop on a dead tile is weaker than a common Artifact with two Tablets touching it. Pause and rearrange instead of dumping the new piece in the first empty square.

Companions and planets

Companion Artifacts and planet-style pieces want surrounding slots kept free for their kits. Do not bury them under fillers until the companion is actually carrying damage or aggro.

Weapon forge choices still have to match this board — filter Anvil next.

Which Anvil offers belong in the build?

Anvil is where templates diverge. Take evolutions that rewrite the attacks you already press; skip novelty for a shelved spine.

Any templateUpgrades to the weapon you holdEvery option is for a second weapon

Match tags you already own

If the grid is Flame-tagged, prefer fire Anvil grafts. Lightning costumes pair with conductor-style branches. Do not reroll the entire weapon because a costume gives a small elemental bump.

Journal memory

After the run, Journal tracks weapon upgrades you have seen so the next Anvil reads faster. Builds get smoother when you recognize branch names instead of gambling every visit.

Node forks still sabotage good boards — use the decision table next.

What should I pick when the node fork is messy?

Mid-run decisions decide whether the template stays online. Use this table instead of greed-by-default.

Leaves economy

Potions beat Pocket Dimension gambles until you clear Chapter 1 consistently. Barter and Leaf-drop Artifacts are build pieces only after you stop dying to empty belts.

Secret rooms

Cracked walls can fund the build with chests and Gold Leaves — chase them when HP is stable. Full tells live on secret rooms.

Finally: the failure modes that waste an otherwise good template.

Which mistakes break Sephiria builds?

Most failed Sephiria builds die to process errors, not because the wrong spine was one band lower on the tier list.

  • Avoid01Swapping weapons after two Anvil visits — both spines stay half-built
  • Avoid02Parking Tablets next to empty tiles instead of the primary Artifact
  • Avoid03Taking Derangement / Arena before a potion exists
  • Avoid04Enchanting every common instead of the spine piece
  • Avoid05Ignoring MP / reload upgrades on Staff or Crossbow templates
  • Avoid06Copying a Tier 30 Artifact list before Destiny unlocks catch up

Hard Mode copies

Whirlwind Greatsword and pure-shield showcases prove ceilings. Copy commitment and Tablet focus; wait on exact late pieces until Sapphires and Miracles support them.

Where to refine next

Deep piece text lives on Artifacts and Tablets. Share drafts with the build planner (same embed as above).

FAQ

What is the best Sephiria build?

For most players: Sword & Shield sustain or Steel Greatsword whirlwind clearer. “Best” / “OP build” still means one spine plus inventory — see the templates table above. 1.0.26 only lets Dagger dash chain into Parry / Fury; it does not invent a new class. Patch list: updates.

What is a good Sephiria companion build?

Treat the companion Artifact as the board centerpiece: leave free adjacent sides for Tablets, avoid burying it under filler pieces, and pick a spine that benefits from the pet’s aggro or damage (often Sword & Shield sustain or Dagger kite). Draft the layout on the planner above, then refine piece text on Artifacts.

What about Sephiria blade, grimoire, or planet builds?

Blade / grimoire / planet names usually mean a Miracle or Artifact fantasy stacked on one spine — lock the weapon Anvil path first, then seat the named piece with open Tablet sides. Planet-style pieces especially need surrounding slots kept free.

What is a Sephiria destiny tree build?

Players searching “destiny tree” usually mean Miracle / Roots tree picks that lock a run fantasy. Treat the tree as meta pacing on top of a spine — pick Roots that support your inventory, then return here for Artifact adjacency. Full Roots notes: Miracles.

Do Miracles count as part of a build?

Yes for run power and meta pacing — pick Miracles that support your lean. Full list notes on Miracles.

Where is the build planner?

On this page under Build your Sephiria loadout, and at build planner — use it for layout drafts; named share links come later.

Should I follow Artifact tier lists first?

Follow spine + adjacency first. Named Artifact rankings help later; wrong placement wastes even S-tier drops.

Can I run two weapons in one build?

You can hold swaps, but Anvil history favors one spine. Dual-wield fantasy usually means a softlocked late chapter.

How do builds differ in co-op?

Split roles (clear vs kite) and trade Anvil priority. Details on co-op guide.
