Your first Sephiria guide goal is not a perfect build — it is surviving Chapter 1 while learning the floor rhythm. Costume stats matter later; for run one, pick any unlocked bunny you understand and enter the tower.

Starting room → usually three node choices → more rooms → boss. Shops appear on a fixed cadence later in a chapter; do not assume every floor sells potions.
Dash is your safety net (base dash count starts at 2). Use normal attacks to learn wind-ups, then spend specials when the room is already controlled. Mid-bosses and mini-bosses drop strong rewards — take them when your HP is stable, skip them when you are one hit from ending the run.
Once you can clear a floor without panic-dashing into walls, the next bottleneck is inventory — the system that actually defines a Sephiria build.
Strategic Inventory is the USP: Artifacts are the pieces you place; Tablets empower neighbors (level bumps, area effects, constraint changes). A high-rarity Artifact dropped on the wrong tile is weaker than a common piece with a good Tablet adjacency.

| Piece | What it does | Beginner tip |
|---|---|---|
| Artifact | Passive / active power on the grid | Place your best piece first, then fill around it |
| Tablet | Boosts adjacent Artifacts | Touch the Artifact you care about — empty neighbors waste the Tablet |
| Enchantment altar | Raises Artifact level | Upgrade the spine piece, not every common filler |
| Mysterious Jar | Consumes same-tier Artifacts for Tablet odds | Skip early — you need slots more than gambles |
| Slab Combiner | Merges two Tablets | Mid-run luxury after your layout is stable |
Pause and rearrange after every Artifact or Tablet pickup. Preview level changes before you lock a placement. Combo tags on items matter once you have two pieces that share a theme — until then, raw adjacency beats chasing a tag you do not own.
Do not sink every Leaf into Pocket Dimension gambles or Blood Donation risks until you can clear Chapter 1 consistently. Inventory slots unlock later in the campaign — play tight with what you have.
With a basic grid habit, pick the weapon you will actually upgrade for the rest of the run.

There are six Sephiria weapons, each with 50+ unique upgrades. Beginners should lock one spine early and feed Anvil offers into that spine instead of diluting across all six.
| Weapon | Feel | Beginner fit |
|---|---|---|
| Sword & Shield | Balanced melee · block / cover options | Best default starter |
| Steel Greatsword | Heavy swings · pack clear / stagger | Good if you like commitment swings |
| Dagger | Fast melee · status / multi-hit builds | High skill — skip until dash timing feels natural |
| Crossbow | Ranged poke · safer boss kiting | Strong if melee rooms overwhelm you |
| Katana | Combo flow · mid-range counters | Rewarding once you learn sheath / timing windows |
| Staff | Magic / elemental area control | MP management required — unlock routes vary |
Costumes tweak starting stats (HP, evasion, elemental leans). They do not replace weapon choice. Armored Bunny style defense trades can help early; specialized costumes wait until you understand the downside.
Some weapons and costumes gate behind Destiny Inscription, village tasks, or cumulative events (for example Blood Donation unlocks). Check Journal progress between runs rather than forcing a locked spine mid-chapter.
Next: turn that weapon commitment into correct node priority on every fork.
Node choice is the mid-run decision skill. Use this table until the layout becomes muscle memory — then break the rules when your build is already online.
| Node | Take when… | Skip when… |
|---|---|---|
| Anvil | You have a clear weapon spine | Offers only dilute into unused weapons |
| Artifact | Inventory has free adjacency | Grid is jammed with no Tablet plan |
| Tablet / Slate | A strong Artifact needs a neighbor boost | You still lack a core Artifact |
| Level Up (XP) | You are close to a talent / level breakpoint | You are dying to damage, not missing levels |
| Leaves / Shop | You need a potion or key buy | You are already full on consumables |
| Green Heart | Max HP is low for the chapter | You need damage to end fights faster |
| Tree Roots (Miracle) | Offered and you understand the buff | You do not know the Miracle yet — read Journal later |
| Derangement / Arena | Build is online and HP is safe | First chapters — spike risk is high |
Anvil → Artifact → Tablet → healing economy (Leaves / potion) → XP. Miracles are high value once per typical run — take Tree Roots when you see them unless the alternative is an emergency heal path.
Colin can be hired or fought for Leaves. Fountains and Obelisks roll random stats — treat them as bonuses, not plans. Lucky Clover and Pocket Dimension spend Sapphires or HP for power; beginners should under-use them.
Healing and secrets are the last two systems that save otherwise-clean runs.
Players search “how to heal in Sephiria” because sustain is intentionally tight. Pair that with cracked-wall secrets so you are not leaving free Leaves and XP on the floor.
Potions and shop stock, certain Artifacts / Miracles, level-up HP recovery (base kit includes HP on level), Green Heart nodes, and rare event heals. There is no endless regen out of combat — play like every hit costs a Leaf.
Online co-op (1–4) lets teammates revive and trade. Use it after you understand solo floors, or jump in with friends using the co-op guide.
If runs still die early, the failure mode is usually one of the habits below.
Most early deaths are process errors, not missing a “meta” Artifact. Fix these before you blame balance.
| Mistake | Fix |
|---|---|
| Swapping weapons every Anvil | Commit one spine for the chapter |
| Ignoring Tablet adjacency | Rebuild the grid after every pickup |
| Fighting hyper-armor elites head-on | Dodge the blue-bar window; do not stun-lock fantasy |
| Skipping potions to “save Leaves” | Dead runs save nothing — buy sustain |
| Taking Derangement too early | Clear clean floors until Chapter 2+ feels stable |
| Never checking cracked walls | One secret chest can fund a potion or Anvil reroll |
| Dumping Sapphires randomly | Buy Destiny nodes that help Leaves, HP, or unlocks you want |
Open Journal, note new Artifacts / Tablets / weapon upgrades, spend Sapphires on Destiny Inscription, then decide whether the next run is a learning run or a push run. Community patches and tips often land first on Discord.
When the loop feels automatic, graduate to weapon rankings and full builds.

Buy potions at shops, take restorative event items, Green Heart nodes, level-up HP recovery, and sustain Artifacts / Miracles. Healing is scarce — treat HP as a budget.
Sword & Shield is the forgiving default. Crossbow if you want range. See weapons and the tier list.
Artifacts are inventory powers; Tablets boost adjacent Artifacts. Deep lists: Artifacts and Tablets.
Online co-op supports up to four players — trade and revive. Details on the co-op guide.
